FAQ

How does TapKit detect my taps?

Through your device's motion sensors (accelerometer). Set the phone on a hard surface, tap firmly nearby, and it picks up the vibration.

TapKit isn't detecting my taps. What do I do?

Open Settings inside TapKit and increase Tap Sensitivity. Make sure your phone is on a surface that transmits vibration (a desk works better than a couch). Tap with a bit more force.

What about the microphone mode?

Optional. Enable it in Settings if you want TapKit to also hear audible taps (clap, snap, drum). Audio is never recorded.

Is the metronome accurate?

Yes — TapKit uses sample-accurate scheduling for the click. If you hear drift on Bluetooth audio, that's typical Bluetooth latency; wired headphones or the device speaker give the cleanest result.

What's in TapKit Pro?

TapKit is free and fully functional. TapKit Pro ($3.99, one-time) unlocks polyrhythms, odd time signatures, extra click sound packs, visual themes, and background playback. Restore Purchases is in Settings.

Will there ever be ads or a subscription?

No. TapKit will never have ads, tracking, or a subscription. One small one-time purchase, that's it.
