MacroLens ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using MacroLens you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account: name, email address and profile photo when you sign in with email/password, Google, or Apple. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only receive Apple's private relay address.
Date of birth / age: to confirm you meet the minimum age and to calculate your energy needs. MacroLens is not intended for children under 13.
Health & fitness data you provide: gender, height, weight, activity level, goals, dietary preferences and supplement intake.
Usage data: food photos, meal logs, nutritional information, and in-app interactions.
Device & diagnostics: device type, operating system, crash logs and performance metrics, plus anonymous usage statistics to improve the app.

How we use your information

To provide personalized calorie and macro tracking; to analyze your food photos and text descriptions with AI; to calculate your daily targets; to improve the service; to send notifications (only if you enable them); and to monitor performance and fix crashes.

Legal basis (GDPR / KVKK): your consent, performance of our service contract with you, and our legitimate interest in improving the app.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase with servers in the EU (europe-west1) region. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We do not sell your personal information, and your health data is never used for advertising.

Third-party services

Google Firebase — authentication, database, storage, cloud functions, crash reporting, analytics and performance monitoring.
OpenAI — AI analysis of your food photos and text descriptions, plus meal-plan and recipe generation, processed via our secure Cloud Functions. Per OpenAI's API data policy, your inputs are not used to train their models and are retained only briefly for abuse monitoring.
USDA FoodData Central — nutritional database for food search.
Apple & Google — Sign-In, and subscription purchases via the App Store / Google Play (we never receive or store your payment card details).

These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of information.

Data retention & deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen; upon deletion, personal data, meal logs, photos and health data are permanently removed within 30 days. You can export your data as JSON before deleting.

Your rights

Under GDPR, KVKK and applicable law you may: access your data; request correction or deletion; export your data; opt out of analytics and of notifications; withdraw consent; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, email oze05607@gmail.com.

Health disclaimer

MacroLens is a nutrition-tracking tool, not a medical device or healthcare service. Calorie, macro and micronutrient estimates are approximations and may not be fully accurate. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional or dietitian before making significant dietary changes. MacroLens is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Children

MacroLens is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
