Anvela is an offline-first travel guide with no account and no sign-in. Your downloaded cities, saved places, and settings live on your device. We do not run analytics, ads, or trackers, and we never sell your data.
Nothing that identifies you. Anvela has no login, no user profile, and no advertising identifier (IDFA). We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, or usage analytics. Your saved cities, saved places, trip lists, and preferences are stored only on your device.
City guides are text-first and small. A starter set ships inside the app, and any city you download — along with its optional offline map pack — is saved on your device so it keeps working with no connection. Deleting a download, or deleting the app, permanently removes that data.
Anvela asks for “While Using the App” location only, and only at the moment you open a map. It is used to center the map on you and to show how far each place is. Your location is used on your device and is never uploaded to us or anyone else. If you decline, the map simply centers on the city instead — everything else works normally.
When you are online and choose to see live ratings or refresh a place’s reviews, Anvela requests that information from Google via the Google Places API. These requests identify the place you are viewing — not you. Anvela has no account and attaches no personal profile to the request. Ratings and a few review snippets are then cached on your device so you can read them offline, with a clear “last updated” label, and are refreshed within the limits allowed by Google’s terms. Google’s handling of these requests is governed by Google’s own Privacy Policy.
The in-app map and downloadable offline map packs are rendered on your device. When you view an online map or download a pack, standard map-tile requests are made to the map provider; these do not include a personal identity. Choosing “Open in Apple Maps” or “Open in Google Maps” hands off to that app, which then applies its own privacy terms.
If you turn on the optional reminders (for example, “your city pack finished downloading”), they are scheduled locally on your device. Anvela uses no push servers.
Anvela Pro (subscription) and Anvela Lifetime (one-time) are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details. Your purchase entitlement is tied to your Apple ID and restored with Restore Purchases. Apple’s privacy terms apply to the transaction.
Anvela uses no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no trackers. The only external services it contacts are those needed for the features above: Google Places (for live ratings/reviews) and the map provider (for online map tiles and pack downloads), and only when you are online and use those features.
You can delete any downloaded city or map pack, clear saved places, and reset preferences at any time in Settings. Deleting the app removes all Anvela data from your device.
Anvela is a general-audience travel app and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
